In August, Ives Brothers installed a $2100 Indirect water heater, and did annual service ($179.15) on my oil furnace. Part of the service was to install a new oil filter and pump screen at the tank. Today (Nov. 29) when the oil company came to fill the oil tank for the first time this fall, the delivery person –prior to filling the tank – pointed out a small leak at the filter, which he suspected was probably the result of the service person failing to properly tighten the 5/8” nut after installing the oil filter. When I called Ives Brothers to ask them to come check this issue out, Carol at Ives suggested that the oil delivery person had done it, and said they would not come check the issue unless I paid for a service call. This is not customer service, it is arrogance.
My advice: save yourself the hassle, and hire someone else first.
My solution. Pay someone else to come fix their problem, and never use them again.
